Yuna’s eyes snapped open. He groaned, as he sat up to look around. He found himself sitting on a bed of grass in the middle of a forest glade. He sighed, as he noticed something in his lower view. He looked down to find… breasts. ‘What the fuck…’ He gasped. That did not sound like his normal voice. It sounded… feminine. He slowly inspected himself, he also wasn’t wearing the same long black coat he was before, nor his jeans. Instead he wore what resembled something of a medieval tunic with a leather belt along his waist. He stood up and stretched his tense muscles. Then suddenly a small window popped up in front of him.

‘What the hell?’ Yuna couldn’t believe his eyes. This looked like something straight from a game. Did he get reborn into a video game world? Or is this power unique to him? He had so many questions, and no answers. EDIT: SLOWER REALISATION/ACCEPTANCE OF NEW WORLD AND POWERS?
‘For now… I should see how far this goes. If it’s like a video game, there should be a menu that shows me my stats. How do I control this?’ Yuna thought as hard as he could about that menu, trying to make it pop up, but nothing happened. ‘Damn it, there has to be some way to see my character.’ The moment he uttered that last word a window popped up, just like before. But this time it was much larger and filled with all sorts of information.

‘What?! Only one luck? Ugh… No wait… all my other stats are ten and my level is one… So I guess I’m at the beginning? It’s as if I just left character creation and logged in for the first time…’ Yuna crossed his arms and tapped his lower lip with his finger. Then it dawned on him… The symbol next to his race was female. Yuna felt oddly euphoric. He didn’t really understand why, but it felt as if a massive weight had been lifted off of his chest. He, no wait… She really is a woman now. Yuna couldn’t help but smile broadly. ‘So this is what the man meant when he said I would be myself,’ she said as she redirected her focus back to the window in front of her.
‘It seems my class is “unspecialised” right now. I guess that means I get to pick my class later? Just like in those JRPGs where you unlock your class or job at a certain level. Hmmm… I also have no idea how dangerous this new world is, so I guess the first thing I should focus on is leveling up then. Level usually loosely equates to power in games like these, so a higher level should ensure I’ll be able to hold my own against a dangerous enemy. I should find a weapon as well…’ Yuna looked around for a moment when she spotted a large branch on the ground. It was hefty and felt sturdy, like it wouldn’t break as soon as it made contact with something. ‘That will do I guess… Now in video games you can see the stats of items, I believe they call that mechanic inspect.’ Again a window popped up, this time right next to the branch she was holding.

Spellbook… Nothing. Hmmm… Abilities? No that’s not it either. What about skills.’ That was it, another window popped up.

If it’s actually like a game I should be able to get skill points through levelling up… Hmmm…’ Yuna stood a moment in silent contemplation when she suddenly felt a cold shiver down her spine. She snapped her head around to see if anything was watching her. Sure enough there it was. A single large wolf stood on the edge of the forest glade. It looked her right in the eyes and bared its fangs. Shit… It certainly doesn’t look friendly, she thought to herself. Then she noticed something, right above the wolf’s body floated a small horizontal bar.

The wolf growled before starting its charge. Yuna raised her branch and braced herself as it leaped towards her. ‘HEAVY STRIKE!’ She shouted as she brought down the heavy branch onto the wolf. She could feel its bones crack from the force of her swing. The wolf cried out in pain. She looked at its health bar, there was only a little left on it. She raised her branch and once more struck down on the broken wolf, the sound of cracking bones and bruised flesh filling the glade.

Yuna stared at the windows in front of her. She felt no remorse for killing that wolf. Better it than me I guess, she thought. She couldn’t help but think she was supposed to at least feel something… A slight bit of regret or remorse. But she supposed it truly was just like a game. The wolf was no more an NPC. Designed and added to the world for her to kill, so she could get experience and loot. ‘Oh! Loot!’ She thought, her mind completely forgetting about the remorse she was supposed to feel. She crouched down by the wolf’s body, who’s head was now utterly reduced to a bloody pulp. It’s fur looks kinda soft, she thought to herself, reaching out a hand to touch it. But before she could, another window popped up.

‘It dropped money! Sweet… These other items might be useful as well, I should take them with me. Inventory.’ Another window popped up, this one housed a grid. Yuna looked around for a weight bar, but found nothing resembling it.
‘Nice, I won’t have to worry about object’s weights. That’s kind of overpowered…’ She said to herself as she pressed the Loot All button. ‘Let’s inspect these items.’

‘I should probably hold on to my attribute and skill points for now, until I figure out what kind of build I’ll be going. Check the map first.’

Slightly above was some text written on the map. Hamtown Woods. Hamtown… That must mean there is a town nearby! Yuna got up with new-found purpose.
